S-video port

My camera has an s-video port and so doe’s my pc so could I do this with an s-video cord.

I’ll bet the s-video port on your computer is for output but not input. Many computers have the ability to display their screen through an s-video port but I personally have never seen one that can capture video in through that port. One problem would be, how do you get the audio in. S-video only carries video but not audio signal.

You are right it is output. And if my camera has no firewire slot there is no other why to hook it up to my computer. Right?

You will have to use a digital converter device. I recommend the Dazzle. See the video “Getting Your VHS Video onto Your Computer via the Dazzle.” It works pretty well for taking an analogue signal and sending it digitally to your computer through the USB port.
