How long should I expect it to take to create a video with your theme kits? Obviously I don’t expect it to just instantly pop out this perfect movie without effort on my part, but do I have to invest hours and hours for just a single clip? What if I’m OC? lol

I think you could get 100 different answers from 100 different scrappers!! It all depends on how involved you want to make your video, how much detail you want to focus on, how many transitions and effects, how timed you want it to be with the music you add, etc.

Having a bit of OC myself, I know what you mean. I guess you need to decide if you want to be completely thorough and detailed or if you want to get a more broad set of skills established. Either would be a good approach.

Maybe other forum members can weigh in on the best approach to take. Thoughts?

One more thought on this.

We have found that some video clips are enjoyable to watch from start to end, like a 15-minute long segment of the kids opening presents. You probably don’t want to do much more than add some borders, a few transitions and some festive music. Your kids will be glued to the TV the entire length. Other clips work well for special, memorable highlight clips to put on your blog or email to your parents and grandparents. You might spend hours getting every last detail just right, with transitions and expressions that match the rhythm and mood of the music, adding in a few photographs to enhance the moment.

Let us know what you think. We would love to know what range of time you spend on various kind of clips.

I’m working on my first project. There is definitely a lot to learn here, but nothing more complicated than when I learned Photoshop for the first time. I don’t expect to make this be a quick and dirty process, but that’s just how I am. I’d rather have a few really good clips that I can show off than to have a bunch of clips that look more thrown together. I’m sure it doesn’t matter much though to other people.
